In 1984, Everett elected to venture out on his own. He moved to Phoenix Arizona, and enjoyed success as the owner and operator of Cave Creek Food Service and Cortez Boat and Beverage before returning to Chicago to again participate in the family business.
He is now the President and CEO of Midway Wholesale Beverage, Inc, he is also a Founding Partner of the Chicago Football Classic, now in its twenty-first year at Soldier Field.
Receiving a B.S. Degree in Sociology from Southern Illinois University, Everett continued in the family business, working his way up to Vice President of Purchasing and ultimately serving as Vice President of the Illinois Liquor Stores Association, an Industry Trade Association.
