Linn-Mathes, my construction firm along with my older brother, has become among the leading multifamily contractors in the Chicago area and a well known name in the affordable housing community. With projects scattered throughout the neighborhoods of Chicago and suburbs, both new construction projects, mixed-use and substantial rehabilitations, our roots run deep from our begin- nings on the southside. Still a traditional general contractor based in Chicago
we employ union apprentice and journeyman carpenters, laborers, drywallers, tapers, iron workers and operating engineers .
I am proud to have been a participant and partner in the first “demonstration” project of mixed income housing in Chicago- the North Town Village Phases 1 & 2 beginning in 1998 which has now grown into the CHA Plan for Transformation.
Active in the cause of housing for the most needy my own personal career at Linn-Mathes has been as the leader of our affordable housing division- which has built or renovated over 15,000 units of housing in the past thirty plus years. This provides a needed resource in our most underserved neighborhoods- and, like my clients, I take pride in providing a glimmer of hope to many parents and children for a better future.
